Hello my friend.  I wish I could be there to see these songs find you, wherever you are, as you listen to this CD.  I don't want to just write a postcard from the place these songs can take you.  I'd rather we were on a road trip with this CD playing.  I could see your reaction as the songs come back around and carry us through the miles.

I love the perspective these songs can offer. I sing them to go back there.  I want to learn what they know.

I recorded this in my home studio so I was able to capture each song at its best moment and find the players who would add just what each song needed.  When it was mix time, I went to NYC to work with Ben Wisch.  He made these songs shine.  Some songs that I thought were on the "maybe" list  (like "Into One")  blossomed into being my favorites after Ben added his ideas and mix magic.

I am so grateful to players like Ted Ray, an awesome drummer from DC, who came to my little home studio on a winter's day to set down the foundation that made these songs so fun to listen to.  And Craig Young on bass.  And thanks to Nance; she sang beautiful harmonies, along with Jared Tyler who also added all kinds of cool slide parts.  Thanks also to Stephanie Winters on cello and Garret Buell on percussion.
